Abstract

A Vector quantization and Side Match Vector Quantization based compressed image and recovered cover image after data extraction is proposed to embed high capacity of secret bits for reversible data hiding and compression scheme. This paper uses the fitness function Contrast sensitivity in Enhanced Imperialist Competitive Algorithm to find the threshold value to fix the embedding rate of cover image that depends on the size of the secret message with optimal embedding capacity and to achieve exact recovery of cover image. Hiding two secret bits in a single index value during data hiding, the output size of code stream is preserved. Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) is used before the quantization for complete recovery of the cover image, high compression ratio and excellent energy compaction. The results shows that the proposed scheme gives high embedding capacity, compression rate and gives the output as code streams with preserved size.
