Abstract

The brain tumor surgical system comprises four main modules. One is the robotic arm movement sensing and transmitting section followed by the second main unit named surgical diathermy unit and third one is the overall module system using robotic assistance and the final module is the patient monitoring unit with a dedicated PC. On the whole this unit acts as an interface between a machine and a surgeon. The Robotic Arm system consists of simplified robotic arm structure similar to that of human arm which can be controlled by a surgeon during tumor surgery. The linear carbon potentiometers based sensing mechanism is used to sense the human arm actions. The human arm actions are transmitted wirelessly to make the system more efficient. The simple and innovative robotic arm movement section is designed using the motors, processors etc. Hope positive, this is the first proposed robotically assisted brain surgery unit in the world.
